The Story So Far
[May 2024] We have been inundated with support and good wishes for our renovation project at The Old Bridge House in Fenit. Since acquiring the run down property, formerly a set of chalets attached the the old Lighthouse Hotel, it has been a huge undertaking to reclaim this famous site in Fenit and develop a new accommodation offer that simply enhances the magical visitor experiences that are available here in Fenit Co.Kerry. We've created a short chronicle below to help illustrate the project timeline and some behind the scenes photos of progress along the way. Our finishing line is now in sight and we cannot wait to start welcoming our first guests from July 2024. Where it Started
When we acquired the Old Bridge House in Fenit it was in a terribly tired state. Completely overgrown, the roof was collapsing and it was almost impossible to access. It was difficult to see the diamond in the rough.
The Challenge
We knew we had a job on our hands to transform this location, but nothing was salvageable. It required a complete strip out of all elements. Roof, internal walls, chimneys - the LOT. We needed to strip this premises right back to the very basics.
The Vision
Whilst the challenge was enormous we were motivated by the vision of creating a place where guests could come to enjoy all of the magic that Fenit, Co.Kerry offers with great convenience. The location, with private access to the greenway, just minutes from the heart of Fenit village would present our guests with a unique Irish holiday experience.
Our Offer
We are building a complex of 5 self catering cottages, each with spacious double rooms which can sleep up to 5 people in total. We're fitting each cottage with the best of furnishings as we want to offer our guests a modern and comfortable stay and enjoy the optimum Fenit experience. We are a family run business and we understand what makes a great family holiday. All of those years and experiences of travelling with kids has been applied to the Old Bridge House.
We're Open
We made it. July 1st 2024 and everything was in place and ready to welcome our first guests of Old Bridge House. We hope that all of the efforts and attention to detail that we've poured into this wonderful premises comes across and enhances our guests experience of their time spent in Fenit.
